Learn more about Muscadine Grapes

Muscadine grapes (Vitis rotundifolia) are indigenous to the southeastern United States and it s the native grape of North Carolina.  The Muscadine Grape has evolved over hundreds of years to withstand adverse growing conditions and disease (such as phylloxera, nematodes and Pierce's disease) that is often fatal to other American and European grapes.  Muscadine are vigorous vines that may grow up to 100 ft. in the wild and are well adapted to the warm, humid conditions of the southeastern U.S.

The scientific community has continues to research and acknowledge that the antioxidants found in grapes and in wine have far reaching potential.  North Carolina muscadine grape seeds are 40 times stronger than other grape seeds like Chardonnay, Cabernet's and Pinot Noir (Vitis vinifera).

Independent laboratory tests show that the Muscadine Grape Seeds contains the highest levels of natural antioxidants of any food product ever tested.  Based on this research, MuscadineGrapeSeeds strives to create health goods which use the very best part of our grapes to create products which will enhance your quality of life.

Muscadine Grape Seeds have an extra electron in its molecular structure which gives an advantage when it comes to fighting Free Radicals.  This extra electron in these Antioxidants, attack and neutralize Free Radicals by "chemically" hooking up with the unpaired electron in the Free Radical and then destroying it by neutralization and absorption.  This stops the chain reaction that often starts many of these deadly diseases and conditions that plaque the human body.  Thus allowing for a longer and more healthy lifestyle.

While much more research needs to be done, the most current research has shown that Antioxidants could play a major role in obtaining a healthy lifestyle.  Antioxidants absorb and neutralize Free Radicals that are in our bodies.  MuscadineGrapeSeeds contain a very concentrated doses of the Antioxidant compound, Resveratrol.

Resveratrol has been identified one of the antioxidant phenolic compounds in grapes that many researchers believe is primarily responsible for what's called the "French Paradox": the observation that French people with poor diets who drink wine have better cardiovascular health than you might expect.

In addition to resveratrol, there are a few more health-enhancing compounds found in muscadine grape seeds:  Ellagic acid (studied for its ability to promote normal cell function),  Quercetin (an antioxidant and flavonoid that helps fight free radical damage and promote overall good health), Anthocyanins (flavonoids most well-known for their potential benefits related to vision, nerve function and support of blood vessels), Oligomeric procyanidins (OPCs) or Proanthocyanidins (power bioflavonoids and potent antioxidants).  OPCs are being extensively researched for promoting skin and eye health, supporting immune function, and promoting proper inflammatory responses.  Researcher believe that they have only scratched the surface of the potential of Muscadine Grape Seeds.
